Spawned from the minds of Brenton Harris and Mike Speakman is an inspirational/entertainment podcast, RADULTS.The podcast showcases people who have said “fuck that” to the idea that growing up and becoming an adult meant giving up on their dreams. Guests include musicians, authors, comic creators, tattooists, artists, screenwriters just to name a few. These guests maintain the passion of their youth, while surviving as an adult (some even have kids and houses, even a mortgage!).

Episode 17 of Radults finds Brenton and Mike chatting with Finnish illustrator/comic book artist JP Ahonen, the man behind much-loved titles Villimpi Pohjola and Belzebubs and one of the humans partly responsible for the brilliant graphic novel Sing No Evil (Perkeros). JP is an absolute Radult with a unique illustrative style, who has found a way to turn his mutual love of black metal and comic books into a career incorporating both.

JP talks us through his own origin story including his formative influences, the comic book culture in Finland, the role that black metal played in shaping his life and illustrative style, how his various projects came to be, how he managed to find his niche and continue to progress artistically and personally while catering to his audience expectations, managing the demands of different projects, his tips for being a Radult and is a willing participant in the most metal Rad Break yet. It's an absolute blastbeat of an episode that fits all of this Radness into half-an-hour. So tune in and get inspired to live a little more Radult by the story of JP Ahonen.
